Spermatocele

Sperm production begins in the testicles.  Once sperm is formed, it travels in a tubular structure behind the testicle, called the epididymis. If one of these tubes becomes obstructed, it can lead to formation of a collection of fluid within the epididymis, known as a spermatocele.  Spermatoceles are almost never cancerous.

Treatment for a hydrocele includes

  • Percutaneous needle aspiration
  • Spermatocelectomy
